The film opened to positive critical reception with several critics praising the ensemble cast with each lead being singled out for their performances across reviews. The plot received a more mixed response contrasting reviewers who felt it was dark, funny and explored its premise well with reviewers who felt the jokes failed to be funny and perceived it to be racist, homophobic and misogynistic. New Line Cinema purchased a script from Michael Markowitz in 2005. Directors Frank Oz and David Dobkin were also in talks to direct. Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley rewrote the script in 2010 and the project went into production with Seth Gordon directing. Some of the filming occurred in Los Angeles. Pictures from the set surfaced online in July, 2010. Seth Gordon encouraged the actors to improvise while filming though Aniston claimed to not have taken advantage of the offer as much as her co-stars, stating "My dialogue was just so beautifully choreographed that there wasn’t much that I needed to do”. The world premiere of Horrible Bosses took place on June 30, 2011 at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California. TAGS: Add Comment
